Welcome to a sneak peek into who and what makes QMetrix
Starting QMetrix was tough. We’re not salesmen. We were consultants. How would we get business? But we had a passion for the technology and how it can help businesses. We have a passion for delivering good business outcomes. We really enjoy it. We believe that when we do good work, the rest follows. So that’s what we did.
There are many consulting companies out there. But the key QMetrix difference is in our people. We are committed to partnering together with our clients to deliver the right outcomes. We listen, advise, and go above and beyond to make sure you see the success that your organisation needs.
Not only is our team highly skilled and technically proficient, we bring experience, perspective and care to every client and project. Get to know some of the talented people at QMetrix who make this happen.
The truth is, this wasn’t where we started. A few of us were colleagues, working as consultants for a company (let’s call it “the Company”). We really enjoyed what we did. But the Company lost its focus, invested in poorly devised growth strategies and above all, was lacking in leadership.
The Company was in trouble. But what would happen to the clients we were working with? As consultants, we didn’t want to leave them in the lurch. We were invested in our relationships with them, in the middle of projects, and delivering great outcomes.
Many left the Company, but a few of us decided to keep going. We inherited a broken business, but relaunched with a new brand and a fresh start, determined to make it our own.
The early years were tough. We were consultants first and foremost – not entrepreneurs. We didn’t know the first thing about growing a sustainable business. We worked crazy hours and pulled out all the stops so our clients could see success – all whilst trying to make the business side of things work so we could continue doing what we love.
After a few tough years, which seemed like a decade (ask any business owner), things finally began looking up. The debts from the previous Company were cleared, we learnt a lot about running a business, and our clients still loved what we were delivering.
They referred us to other organisations and we began to gain momentum with new clients. The ball kept rolling and we have continued to invest in great employees who believe in our vision and want to join us on this exciting journey.
We love working with business of all sizes and industries, catering for small, medium and large corporates. Our solutions empower our clients to do things smarter and not harder, allowing them to operate with the efficiency and agility needed in today’s business environment to have a cutting edge over their competitors.
We are really proud of what we have achieved.
What got us here? Our passion for how technology can help organisations (we actually really enjoy doing this stuff), our commitment to go above and beyond for our clients, and putting the team above the individual (no egos in this place).
We also like each other. Some of our long-term clients have been with us for over a decade – and it has been an awesome journey growing from strength to strength with them.

With 10 years working in finance roles before moving into IT consulting, Brett provides a powerful combination of skillsets to guide and strategise with organisations to achieve the right outcomes from their technology investments. He has over 18 years’ experience building solutions in Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, and Budgeting and Planning across manufacturing, distribution, construction, government, healthcare, retail and sporting industries.
At QMetrix, Brett leads efforts to ensure that our clients receive exceptional service, whilst also enabling potential clients to understand how the QMetrix team can solve their pain points through delivering outstanding solutions. He loves seeing how successful investments in technology optimise business processes and drive business profitability.
Brett is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), and holds a Graduate Diploma in Software Development and Bachelor of Business in Accounting.
If you come by our office, try and beat Brett in a game of table tennis. Otherwise, you’ll find him keeping his kids entertained or watching AFL (mainly the mighty magpies!).

David is a highly experienced, driven and delivery focused professional leveraging both accounting (CA) and IT skills to help organisations manage and implement Corporate Performance Management solutions.
At QMetrix, David leads and implements solutions across a broad range of industries and has extensive experience in all aspects of Budgeting and Planning, Business Intelligence and Data Management resulting in successful and measurable business outcomes. David brings cross industry insights and strategic thinking to his engagements and is passionate about leveraging technology to improve business processes and drive efficiencies for his clients.
David is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and holds a Bachelor of Information Systems and Bachelor of Business (Accounting).
Away from work, David likes to unwind by hitting the slopes snowboarding, enjoying a nice drop of whiskey and of course, spending time with his family (in case his wife reads this!).

With over 20 years’ experience in IT (15 in consulting), Michael combines his customer focussed approach, life-long interest in technology, and knowledge of infrastructure and applications to help organisations implement solutions that improve their processes and efficiency.
At QMetrix, Michael leads a team of highly skilled and dedicated professionals who implement Information Management solutions across a diverse range of industries and technologies.
Having worked across a variety of industries such as pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, healthcare, supply chain logistics, food manufacturing, publishing, investment bank and gaming, he has helped many different organisations implement Data Warehouse, Master Data Management and Business Intelligence platforms in unique and innovative ways.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Business in Business Information Systems.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys catching up with family and friends over a BBQ and bottle of red. Like many QMetrix staff, you’ll hear about a sneaky trip into the office on a weekend just for an awesome cup of coffee. Why go to a café for sub-standard coffee when QMetrix (aka Paragon Espresso) has the best?

With over 20 years working in IT across a broad spectrum of industries, Justin’s knowledge and depth of experience allows him an insight into what drives a successful BI implementation in an organisation. He has significant experience in designing and developing enterprise grade BI solutions based on the Microsoft BI stack, including on-prem and Azure services.
Justin’s experience has been primarily focused in the Australian financial services sector, where he has consistently demonstrated a clear and concise understand of the business issues presented, enabling him to propose effective solutions with high value-add to the end user.
At QMetrix, Justin strives to build the knowledge and skills around Master Data Management for our clients, helping them implement and leverage the business process needed with the support of world class software products.
Justin holds a Bachelor of Computer Science. He can be found most weekends at Sydney Olympic Park passionately supporting the GWS Giants. One of his greatest joys is punting the Sherrin around the pitch with his young boys after the game.

Sam is a Principal Consultant with 9 years’ experience in building extensible and supportable information management solutions. His skills range across data modelling, ETL, Data Warehousing (DWH) design patterns and architecture, and Master Data Management (MDM). Leveraging his extensive technical development skills in both Microsoft and Profisee technologies he focuses on agile development and delivery.
Sam sometimes holds a Bachelor of Information Technology but mostly keeps it tucked away in a safe place. Various well-respected institutions have described him as certified – certifications include Profisee MDM technology, Alumni of Kimball University, IBM Cognos Analytics, and Microsoft SQL and related BI technologies.
By day, he is the power user in the office. With 3 Androids, 6 screens, 12 power sockets, and 4 data ports he is responsible for approximately 50% of the office’s power consumption. By night, he has a small family and almost all his marbles. He maintains a discerning standard, from technology to puns.

With exposure to many industries during his career, Scott drives organisational and business change by helping clients establish strong business cases to introduce solutions that drive significant returns.
At QMetrix, Scott engages with key stakeholders to help them understand how QMetrix can help them solve the challenges they experience in fulfilling their key responsibilities. By focusing on the impact to key business drivers, Scott is in a unique position to objectively assess and recommend the appropriate solution to prospective customers.
Scott holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting and Marketing) and is RG146 Financial Services compliant.
In his own time, Scott is an avid footy fan – yes another Magpie – loves sport, plays guitar (albeit badly) and relishes the opportunity to spend time with his family and friends over a cheeky beer or wine.
Stephen is a qualified BI consultant with a strong background in both Data Warehousing and Information Management. He has been part of large development teams and in leadership roles. Stephen’s background has also allowed him to grow his business analyst skills, so he is very comfortable gathering requirements and interacting with key business stakeholders.
Stephen has implemented and delivered many IBM Cognos Analytics reporting solutions, demonstrating a keen eye for detail and an ability to deliver extensible, supportable solutions. His excellent knowledge of various database technologies coupled with solid ETL expertise makes him an excellent candidate for architecting and developing Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence solutions.
His extensive understanding of the Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence domain are based on best practice methodologies which, coupled with his strong communication skills, can be applied to strategic data warehouse assignments. Stephen is also excellent at managing client expectations, which allows him to closely work with technical team(s) to provide guidance in data modelling, ETL, database design and developing and testing reporting solutions.

Alex is a highly motivated and skilled consultant, with a keen interest in Performance Management, particularly with TM1/IBM Planning Analytics and Adaptive Insights.
After graduating from Monash University with a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy), Alex took up a graduate role with QMetrix, where he has had the opportunity to further develop and explore his natural ability with IT systems, while utilising the knowledge gained from his degree.
Alex has worked within a range of industries at QMetrix, allowing him to bring a broad range of experiences and perspectives to all engagements. First and foremost, he is a passionate business consultant who strives to improve the working lives of his clients.
Outside of work, Alex has a love of coffee, and you will often see him working away at his latte art at the QMetrix office coffee machine. Alex also likes to stay fit and healthy, through running regularly and going to the gym.

Highly experienced in the IT professional services of Business Intelligence, Data Analytics and Data Management, Kevin has considerable experiences leading and implementing complex IT solutions across a broad range of industries. Previously he worked within the BI practice as a leading BI consultant in companies such as IBM, BHP/Rio Tinto/Cargill and the Australian Tax Office.
At QMetrix, Kevin is actively involved in complex Business Intelligence and Data Management projects. He has a solid understanding of delivering high quality results against business requirements and using methodologies, processes and technologies most suited for each client’s needs.
Kevin holds a Bachelor of Business Systems and is certified in the latest BI and Master Data Management products.
He loves coming into our beautiful office just to have a great coffee made by our resident barista.

William has 10 years of experience working in the IT Industry, specialising in Reporting, Data Warehouse design, Master Data and API Integration. He has worked with many clients to get to the best solution for understanding and utilising their data.
His product expertise includes SQL Server, Cognos Reporting and Profisee Master Data. He also has a wealth of experience in Data Warehouse best practices, SQL server tuning and performance optimisation. He is also well versed with integrating data between Adaptive Insights and source and target systems.
William has a Bachelor of Information Technology and is a Certified Profisee Administrator (Master Data Management).
You will often find William making terrible puns or geeking out with strategy games.

Brenda is a hands-on systems specialist with a solid background in finance and IT. Prior to joining QMetrix, she worked with market leading providers of integrated facilities services in Australia and New Zealand for many years. She held roles including Management Accountant, System Accountant and Senior Business Analyst.
A background in diverse and fast changing multi-facilities services industries helped her accumulate extensive knowledge and experience in Budgeting and Forecasting, Planning and Financial Modelling, Data Analysis, Data Integration, Process Improvement and Reporting.
At QMetrix, Brenda specialises in Adaptive Insights implementation, assisting clients in a broad range of industries to develop effective Planning and Forecasting systems which lead to continued success in strategy planning and Corporate Performance Management.
Brenda is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor of Business, with a major in Accounting and minor in Software Development.
Outside work, Brenda loves reading, enjoys listening to a broad range of music and taking photos.
Dale has more than 10 years’ experience as a Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing consultant, working across a range of corporate and government clients. His expertise includes technologies such as IBM Cognos Analytics and Framework Manager.
At QMetrix Dale is involved in data modelling, and creating reporting and analytics solutions. Blending his knowledge of database systems and business analysis, he delivers timely, well-received, quality results.
Dale holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Information Technology) and a Bachelor of Arts (Asian Studies).
Film, biking, cheap beer and music are just some of Dale’s other passions outside of work.

Daniel has comprehensive software engineering experience, where he has engaged in all phases of technical software support from front-end to back-end development and application support. As a software developer he is passionate about designing, developing and installing software solutions. He has experience building high quality, innovative and well performing software in compliance with coding standards and technical designs. He also has experience designing, modifying, developing, writing and implementing software programming applications, as well as supporting and installing software applications/operating systems.
At QMetrix, Daniel is a technical support consultant. He is committed to providing Master Data Management services, and being helpful and resourceful for our clients. Daniel also implements software development and data integration tasks using API’s, particularly when integrating Adaptive Insights with upstream and downstream systems.
Daniel holds a Master of Information Technology degree.
After five days in the office he’s always craving to walk all eighteen holes on the weekend. If you’re a golfer, look for Daniel.
As a Consultant with QMetrix, Jessica partners with clients to implement and deliver Business Intelligence solutions. She specialises in IBM Cognos Analytics, and has worked with clients mainly in retail and manufacturing.
Jessica has a Bachelor of Commerce (Business Analytics and Supply Chain Management) and Bachelor of Arts (Public Relations).
Outside the office she likes to stay active by playing netball, going to the gym and walking her dog.

Joanne is a highly driven consultant with a passion for business intelligence. Prior to QMetrix, Joanne worked briefly in both the insurance and auditing industries. This has given her insight and skills that she has been able to apply to QMetrix clients.
Her IBM Cognos Analytics, TM1/Planning Analytics and Adaptive Insights skills enable her to work across a wide range of industries. What she enjoys most about her work is empowering clients to drive business decisions through meaningful data.
Joanne graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Business Information Systems and Bachelor of Commerce (Business Modelling).
Outside of work Joanne enjoys travelling and staying active. You’ll find her weekends are always busy either hiking in Victoria or planning her next getaway.

With over 6 years of experience in the TM1/IBM Planning Analytics space, Nuwan has worked in all aspects of the product cycle from pre-sales to system specification and design, development, administration, documentation, training and distribution.
At QMetrix, Nuwan brings his combined experience of financial planning and management skills to develop effective working relationships and solutions with our clients.
Nuwan holds a Masters in Information Technology and Bachelor of Business. He is also an IBM Cognos certified TM1 Developer and Administrator.
Away from work, Nuwan likes to travel; watch cricket, AFL or Rugby; and spend time with his friends and family.

Shibani has over four years of demonstrable experience in delivering best practice BI solutions. Passionate and driven, she collaboratively designs engaging reports and dashboards to facilitate timely, data driven decisions. Shibani conducts free data analytics workshops for women through She Loves Data to improve gender diversity in the technology space
At QMetrix, Shibani engages with clients to scope requirements and turns them into meaningful reports and dashboards. She predominantly uses IBM Cognos Analytics to promote accurate decision making.
She has completed a Bachelor of Engineering followed by a Master of Business Information Systems.
In her free time, you’ll find Shibani hiking outdoors, enjoying a cold beer or learning something new – currently Spanish.

A motivated and driven professional, Troy brings a range financial modelling and business analysis experience to his role as Consultant at QMetrix. He specialises in implementing efficient, accurate and easy-to-use budgeting and forecasting models to a broad range of companies.
Troy holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and had a number of years’ experience in business analyst roles within the sporting and manufacturing industries prior to joining the QMetrix team.
Away from work, Troy is an avid music and sports fan, regularly attending concerts and AFL games with his family and friends.

Megan joined the team almost six years ago, witnessing QMetrix go from strength to strength. Megan’s background is a little bit of a lot of things and after a couple of stints studying at university – first Business and Japanese and then Civil Engineering – she has worked primarily in accounts related positions in a variety of companies.
At QMetrix, Megan supports the directors and consultants. She manages office supplies, answers the phone, provides awesome customer service, pays the bills, manages the administration of third party software licences and more. With two teenage children, Megan has lots of experience with multitasking and getting things done.
Megan works part time and in her time off she likes to play tennis, coach netball and catch up with family and friends.

As the marketing person at QMetrix, Faith handles everything from campaign management, to social media strategy, search engine optimisation, content marketing and design. One of the best parts of the role is gathering stories from our clients and hearing how our solutions take away frustration and make work more enjoyable and effective (plus drive business performance!).
Faith holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Communications and Sociology, and Diploma in Visual Communications. She brings 7 years of marketing experience from primarily the education and not for profit spaces.
Outside the QMetrix office you can find her water colouring, tinkling up tunes on the piano or discovering parenthood.
