QMetrix User Group Event for Workday Adaptive Planning Clients – March 2024

On 21st March 2024, QMetrix’s Workday Adaptive Planning team hosted an exclusive event for our Premium Care clients.

The event featured presentations from Kelvin Yap, Workday Solutions Consultant, and Alex Houghton, QMetrix Practice Manager – CPM. It was followed by nibbles and drinks in Melbourne CBD.

The first speaker, Kelvin Yap, Workday Solutions Consultant, highlighted some of the key enhancements that were announced in the March 2024R1 release. This included demonstrations on Personal What If Scenarios, Modelled Sheet Data Validation and Report Scheduling.

Kelvin also provided guests with an early preview of selected enhancements on the Adaptive roadmap (unreleased features).

Here are some of the things Kelvin touched on:

Personal What If Scenarios

“Personal What-If Scenarios” allow users to test data changes without impacting the live data in your plan version. This creates a more seamless and flexible planning experience. These scenarios are tied to existing budget versions – when a change has been saved, the cells are highlighted in green to easily view the impact. These scenarios can be analysed further in reports and dashboards.

Modelled Sheet Data Validation Enhancements

Kelvin touched on the modelled sheet data validation enhancements, which provides modellers the ability to create rules to control the type of data entered into the sheet. Users are also able to filter on rows that violate these validation rules, helping to improve the process of validating data.

Report Scheduling

Web reports are now able to be scheduled, by either sending an email notification or a report snapshot to users. This means that users are able to receive report results attached to an email instead of having to log in and view their reports.

Once some of the latest enhancements were covered, Kelvin provided a demonstration on some of the unreleased features yet to come in Workday Adaptive Planning. You had to be at the event to get the inside scoop on these. We can’t share them here just yet – let’s hope they are released soon!

After this, Kelvin handed the microphone over to QMetrix Workday Adaptive Planning Practice Manager, Alex Houghton. Alex took the audience through the journey of a typical budget season, and how to ensure the next budget season runs smoothly – read about it here.

Thank you to all of our valued clients for joining us at the User Group and we look forward to our second 2024 User Group later this year!
